I do love a good care package...
When I went away to college...I never expected to be homesick. I was. I cried pretty much every time I got off the phone with either my mom or Matt. It was sad. Luckily it didn't last too long - I got in the swing of things and figured out that the whole college thing was actually lots of fun.
One awesome thing that came with being away from home was the start of receiving care packages. My mom sends amazing care packages filled with thoughtful, useful things. They come almost as a piece of art complete with tissue paper, tied ribbons, and an address surrounded by stamps and stickers. During my homesick days I couldn't bear to throw away even the decorated address flap! Sad I told you.
Once I married Matt I started to get double the love from HIS mom too! Sometimes my sister even gets in on the action :)
Grant came along and I won't even tell you what comes his way. It's obscene - and much appreciated. Babies grow out of clothes faster than I thought possible!
I'm not quite as good at sending the packages as some of the other women in my life are. My mom once told me she has enjoyed sending gifts and thoughtful things to people since she was a little girl. I always thought it was a mom thing and that I'd get better at it once I became a mom. So far it's not looking that way. It may be my New Years Resolution next year...
Anyway, this is just a post of thanks. I certainly don't need material things to feel the love but it's so much fun coming home to a box of surprises :) Don't you agree?
Willow does...
Grant too!
