Catching Up

Lots to share! Sorry for the delay but blogging has taken a backseat to baby showers, birthday planning, working, and fun with an almost 1 year old :)

Guess who took his first steps? He is still tentative but is getting more and more bold. This boy takes after his dad - he is a mover! It's so much fun to see him exploring.

Walking! from Chelsea Tedder on Vimeo.

We've had lots of other fun happening around here too!

A visit from Grandma...

Which allowed us to have a night out on the town at the Shelburne Farms 1920s benefit :)

Matt sported his mustache for a few days. I was relieved that an occasion for a mustache convinced him to shave off his beard!

As you saw from my last post...it's lake season again! Hooray!!

2 babies - same view - 30 years apart.

Grant has had no shortage of activities....

Fun with friends :)

AND in the pool!

Check out the curls on my baby :)

BIKE riding!

Watching cousin Danielle perform at JazzFest with Bubbie and Aunt Meg...

His first creemee!

Walks to amazing places.

It's hard to believe Grant is almost one - only 1 more week left. Time is flying by.

I do love a good care package...

When I went away to college...I never expected to be homesick. I was. I cried pretty much every time I got off the phone with either my mom or Matt. It was sad. Luckily it didn't last too long - I got in the swing of things and figured out that the whole college thing was actually lots of fun.

One awesome thing that came with being away from home was the start of receiving care packages. My mom sends amazing care packages filled with thoughtful, useful things. They come almost as a piece of art complete with tissue paper, tied ribbons, and an address surrounded by stamps and stickers. During my homesick days I couldn't bear to throw away even the decorated address flap! Sad I told you.

Once I married Matt I started to get double the love from HIS mom too! Sometimes my sister even gets in on the action :)

Grant came along and I won't even tell you what comes his way. It's obscene - and much appreciated. Babies grow out of clothes faster than I thought possible!

I'm not quite as good at sending the packages as some of the other women in my life are. My mom once told me she has enjoyed sending gifts and thoughtful things to people since she was a little girl. I always thought it was a mom thing and that I'd get better at it once I became a mom. So far it's not looking that way.  It may be my New Years Resolution next year...

Anyway, this is just a post of thanks. I certainly don't need material things to feel the love but it's so much fun coming home to a box of surprises :) Don't you agree?

Willow does...

Grant too!

Lunch

In Vermont, there is a saying that goes something like this, "If you don't like the weather...wait a few minutes and it will change." I'd like to add that the same applies to the mood of a 10 month old.

Cape Cod

Grant has 4 pretty awesome grandparents. He's also super lucky to have 2 really fun great grandparents who we get to see fairly often. His greats (Bernie and Gigi) go to Cape Cod for a week every March and this year we joined them for a weekend.

Cousin Jess came with us (good thing - I wouldn't have made it far in the car alone with him).  We stopped through Boston to pick up my mom and say hi to my dad since it just so happened he was there for a weekend conference. My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the tragedy in Boston. It's all the more real that we leave so close. We were JUST there and then I returned to Watertown a few weeks ago for a conference. So surreal.

Time was too short...

Just a quick lunch...

And a short walk...

To one of my favorite spots in Boston.

Then we headed to the Cape for the weekend. We did a lot of this.

G had his first swing :)

And ride down the slide.

We did some sightseeing....

And walked on the beach...

IT WAS COLD!

A last goodbye to Doc and we were headed home.

Already?

9 months old? In just a few days he will be 10 months. How did that happen so quickly? I'll blink and he will be 16 asking for car keys.

Too. Dang. Cute.

A little ball of energy who hates getting his diaper changed, clothes on, and face wiped but he is SO MUCH FUN.

Great Grand Love

This makes my heart happy.
