Grant LOVED the pool and we spent lots of time relaxing in the sun (or shade rather for Grant). It was great going on vacation with the grandparents. Grant loved it and so did we! I actually made it through a whole book...a novelty for a mother of a 9 month old. John even came to visit for a night! Back soon with more :)

Florida
I love this series of photos. It pretty much sums up our time in Florida. Fun fun fun!

Snow Day
It's rare to get a snow day in Vermont. When the school buses can operate with chains on the tires, why would they cancel school? Today was one of those rare days. It also happened to fall on a day I work. It's always nice to get an extra day at home (especially when baby G decides to sleep mostly through the night and then snuggle in bed for a few more hours - whoop whoop), even though it means I lose the $$ I would have earned as an hourly employee.
We made the most of our day - lots of fun in the snow :) We went cross country skiing on the golf course, played in the backyard, and drank hot chocolate when cousin Danielle visited. Here are a few videos.
This one is for Aunt Meg!
Grant went backyard sledding for the first time :)
Before you start getting jealous of this peaceful winter scene let me share another video showing how things usually go down around here...
Back soon with Florida pics!

Oops
Sigh. Over a month has passed since my last post. How did that happen?! Wait..I know...I started working a new job, Grant brought the stomach bug home (for the 2nd time this year), my parents came to visit (unluckily for them on the same weekend as the bug), and we went on vacation to Florida for a week. Whew!
I'll post mostly pics and get to all of it eventually.
Starting with ones that are just cute :)
I melt. That sweet face keeps me going even though I'm up at least twice still with him every night.
Things are getting more and more fun around here! Grant has perfected the art of both getting in/out of sitting and rolling and can get just about anywhere with a combo of both. He is starting to get on all fours so crawling probably isn't far behind.
He also LOVES his big sister these days. She gets the happy arm flapping whenever she walks in the room. She's very tolerant of him.
Onward. My parents came to visit in mid-Feb. We were so looking forward to seeing them! Grant came down with a stomach bug the day they arrived and had to stay home from school. It slowly spread through the rest of us (first me, then Matt, and finally both my parents!). Ug. We still enjoyed their stay :) Not sure when they will brave the cold to come back.
Does this sound eerily familiar? It should! Matt's parents were here the last time the bug came to visit. Ug.
We had some good times at the lake and Old Brick Store before the bug got to the rest of us!
Grant had his first taste of cheddar cheese. It he's anything like me it will be the start of a lifelong love.
Bubbie also managed to check one item off the to-do list before she got sick :) Like my new lamps?? We painted them red. I think they came out looking great!
A bit of other fun at home.
A mini photo shoot post illness.
You guys are HILARIOUS!
And one more with Bubs :)
Next up....Florida! Hopefully I'll get to it before another month passes.

Winter Fun
I'm writing this at 7:30pm on Saturday night. Our big trip out of the house today was to the Co-op to get sandwiches for lunch. I managed to rack up an $80 bill by going crazy in the bulk, produce, and natural beauty sections. Dang.
Anyway, the point of the story is that in this post I'm going to focus on the winter fun we had in early January. I'm hoping by posting about it that the snow and (relative) warmth will come back! Our week has been F.R.E.E.Z.I.N.G. As in, this was the temp on my way to work Thursday AM.
The highs have been in the single digits. Way too cold for a baby boy to be outside. Plus he has been sick the past few days with fever and just feeling yucky. We've been doing lots of playing inside. LOTS.
The cuteness. Even while sick.
Meanwhile, someone else doesn't seem to care that it's cold outside. Good thing Matt has a warm coat.
OK back to winter fun. Right after Christmas we had tons of snow, acceptable temps and sunshine! It was glorious. We made the most of it.
Grant had his first skin up Mt. Philo and ski down.
Much to Matt's dismay, he cried all the way down. I think he wasn't a big fan of the wind in his face :(
Grant also had his first cross country ski on the golf course. He looks thrilled.
We did some more skiing at Stowe and Sugarbush :) Grant hung out in the lodge. It was tiring for him!
Aunt Meg visited Burlington too :)
We went snowshoeing down to the lake. Thanks to Amanda for the invite!
Grant started swimming lessons! (OK this is an indoor activity but still considered winter fun.) Cousin Jess is our teacher!
AND he did some naked eating. It's just more fun that way :)
Whew. All caught up. Happy Saturday!
