Winter Fun

I'm writing this at 7:30pm on Saturday night. Our big trip out of the house today was to the Co-op to get sandwiches for lunch. I managed to rack up an $80 bill by going crazy in the bulk, produce, and natural beauty sections. Dang.

Anyway, the point of the story is that in this post I'm going to focus on the winter fun we had in early January. I'm hoping by posting about it that the snow and (relative) warmth will come back! Our week has been F.R.E.E.Z.I.N.G. As in, this was the temp on my way to work Thursday AM.

The highs have been in the single digits. Way too cold for a baby boy to be outside. Plus he has been sick the past few days with fever and just feeling yucky. We've been doing lots of playing inside. LOTS.

The cuteness. Even while sick.

Meanwhile, someone else doesn't seem to care that it's cold outside. Good thing Matt has a warm coat.

OK back to winter fun. Right after Christmas we had tons of snow, acceptable temps and sunshine! It was glorious. We made the most of it.

Grant had his first skin up Mt. Philo and ski down.

Much to Matt's dismay, he cried all the way down. I think he wasn't a big fan of the wind in his face :(

Grant also had his first cross country ski on the golf course.  He looks thrilled.

We did some more skiing at Stowe and Sugarbush :) Grant hung out in the lodge. It was tiring for him!

Aunt Meg visited Burlington too :)

We went snowshoeing down to the lake. Thanks to Amanda for the invite!

Grant started swimming lessons! (OK this is an indoor activity but still considered winter fun.) Cousin Jess is our teacher!

AND he did some naked eating. It's just more fun that way :)

Whew. All caught up. Happy Saturday!

Holidays Part II

Hello friends :) It's cold here today!! Too cold for the baby to be outside. I ran while Matt was still home this AM and my weather app said it was 0 degrees but felt like -11. It was about right! Although even a run in -11 degree weather was nice when I had no stroller to push or dog to pull along. I wasn't sure what to do with my hands! Actually that's not true...I had to ball them up inside the ski gloves I was wearing so they didn't freeze.

Anyway. Enough of that tangent! I'm back to share the rest of our Christmas pics.

When we were in VA, we had the chance to visit with friends.

It's so so fun to spend time with these babies and their parents!

We even got a night out on the town sans babe to celebrate Jenn's engagement :) Woo hoo!

On Christmas Eve we made a special trip to hang out with Grant's birthday brother.

And his amazing wife :)

We broke up the trip on the way back north a few days after Christmas by stopping off at my Grandparent's house for the night. John was in town for a 4 night Phish concert so we wanted to see him!

I didn't take many pics but here are a few :)

Little Phish fan.

By the time we headed back to VT Grant was DONE with being in the car. He did a little of this.

He wanted to do a lot of this but wasn't allowed while the car was in motion. He was MOST displeased and let us know it big time.

We came home to this!

Then we partied it up on NYE. First the babies partied.

Grant displayed his love for his friend Holland.

Then the babes went to bed (all over the house - it was super cute) and the parents had our chance to party :)

I'll be back with more winter fun!

It has been a while....

I've been absent. Sorry about that! I have excuses.  First came Christmas then we came home and my computer gave me the blue screen of death. It was only mildly traumatic since I had all my files backed up. Now I'm writing this post from my brand new Mac! Hooray! Bear with me as I figure out how to use it.

How about I start with the holidays? We braved it and drove the 12.5 hours to Virginia with a 6 month old. It actually went great! We spent time with both families and Grant had lots of quality time with grandparents and aunts. To save time I'll just let you enjoy the pics :)

A new stocking :)

There was no present shortage this year! Grant received lots of fun new things (as did we).

Yum.

Grant also met his Great Aunt Sandra for the first time :)

Whew! That was just family time in Lynchburg! We also spent some fun time with friends and stopped in NY on the way back to VT to see my brother, grandparents and other fam. I'll post on those soon!

xo!
